Four lanes. One garage.
Smart car care.
Ten minutes a month keeps most surprises off the bill. Start with these six checks.
-
01
Check tyre pressure monthly
Measure cold, and use the figure on the door jamb — not the sidewall. Soft tyres cost fuel and grip.
-
02
Read the dipstick
Check the oil every few fill-ups on level ground. Dark oil is normal; a low level is not.
-
03
Test the battery before winter
Most batteries tire after four or five years. A quick load test is cheaper than a tow truck.
-
04
Listen to your brakes
A squeal, a grind or a pulsing pedal means pads or discs need a look — soon, not someday.
-
05
See and be seen
Walk around the car once a month: every bulb working, wiper blades clean and streak-free.
-
06
Watch the temperature gauge
Needle creeping up? Pull over and let it cool. Never open the radiator cap while it is hot.
