2026 Denza D9 price and specs

After being launched here last year with a pair of large off-road SUVs, Chinese luxury brand Denza is now adding something quite different to its showrooms.

The Denza D9 is a luxurious electric people mover, giving the premium BYD brand a rival for the likes of the Mercedes-Benz EQV and Zeekr 009 – both of which it undercuts.

It’s now in showrooms, priced from $85,990 before on-road costs.

The D9 is based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, a dedicated modular electric vehicle (EV) architecture that also underpins several Australian-delivered BYD electric models, including the Dolphin hatch, Seal mid-size sedan, and Atto 3 small/mid-size SUV.

It enters an Australian people mover segment that accounted for just 15,000 sales last year, of which just under 11,000 were Kia Carnivals. In China, however, luxurious people movers are seen as status symbols and halo vehicles for their manufacturers.

Denza’s Australian rollout isn’t finished, with the brand teasing on its website its next launch will be of the sleek Z9 GT shooting brake.
