2026 Mitsubishi Outlander the latest model to get a black edition

‘Black packs’ are a dime a dozen nowadays, between GWM’s Vantas, Hyundai’s Black Inks, and Ford and Mitsubishi’s aptly named Black Editions.

Now, Mitsubishi has launched another Black Edition bringing more kit and, yes, various items finished in black.

The 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander LS Black Edition is priced at $47,990 before on-road costs, and will arrive in local dealerships in February.

It’s not the only addition to the retail range, with the previously fleet-only front-wheel drive ES 5+2 (as seven-seat Outlanders are known) now available to private buyers, priced at $42,540 before on-roads.

Available only with seven seats and all-wheel drive, the LS Black Edition takes the regular LS spec list but adds the following items from the Aspire:

  • Heated front seats
  • Microsuede seat upholstery with leatherette bolsters
  • 8-way power driver’s seat
  • Leatherette front and rear door trims

It also adds the following black components:

  • 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Roof and roof rails
  • Mirror caps
  • Bumper garnishes
  • Grille
  • Fog light bezels
  • Belt line mouldings
  • Quarter window garnish

The LS Black Edition is $1450 more expensive than the regular LS.

As with the standard LS, the LS Black Edition includes:

  • LED headlights and fog lights
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
  • 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Satellite navigation
  • 8-speaker Dynamic Sound Yamaha sound system
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter
  • Wireless phone charger

All Outlanders are backed by a 10-year, 200,000km warranty with 10 years of roadside assistance and capped-price servicing.

If you don’t service your Outlander with Mitsubishi, the warranty drops down to five years or 100,000km.

Last year, Mitsubishi launched an updated Outlander with locally tuned steering and suspension, a larger touchscreen, and tweaked exterior styling, among other changes.

As before, it continues to be powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 135kW of power and 244Nm of torque, mated with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), though a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain is available and an updated Outlander PHEV will be released in coming weeks.
