Renault Kangoo recalled

The current third-generation Renault Kangoo is now subject to a nationwide product safety recall due to missing covers on its rear door striker plates, which may injure people entering or exiting the vehicle.

The recall affects all petrol variants of the latest Kangoo III compact delivery van – Renault’s smallest commercial vehicle – which arrived in Australia in electric E-Tech form in early 2024, followed by petrol versions in mid-2024.

“On certain vehicles, the cover on the rear swing door in the loading bay are missing, resulting in door strikers being exposed to occupants,” said Renault Australia in its recall notice.

“If the vehicle occupant is unaware of the uncovered door striker plate, it may increase the risk of injury when entering or exiting the vehicle.”
