2026 Kia EV4 GT Sedan revealed

The Kia EV4 GT Sedan has quietly been revealed for the Korean domestic market, following its hatchback sibling that debuted at last month’s Brussels motor show.

Launched in its home region alongside the smaller EV3 GT and larger EV5 GT SUVs, the EV4 GT for Korea features the same 215kW/468Nm dual-motor electric drivetrain as the EV4 GT Hatch revealed for Europe, fed by an 81.4kWh lithium-ion battery.

While not detailed for the Korean sedan, the EV4 GT Hatch quotes a 0-100km/h sprint time of 5.6 seconds, though Kia Korea does disclose a driving range of up to 440km on the city cycle based on figures reported by the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, which are generally stricter than the WLTP standard.

Further details for the Korean model include a combined efficiency rating of 4.5km/kWh or 22.22kWh/100km on the standard 20-inch alloy wheels, which are shod in 245/40 Pirelli P Zero performance tyres.

Pricing for the EV4 GT in the domestic market starts from 55,170,000 won (A$54,074) after local tax benefits, though the list price on the Korean configurator shows base pricing of 58,110,000 won (A$56,955).

It’s worth noting that while the base pricing seems quite sharp, the base EV4 GT in Korea doesn’t feature the full active safety suite as standard equipment, requiring a 1,280,000 won (A$1254) ‘Drive Wise’ option package, while a sunroof and head-up display are also optional equipment in the domestic market.

Other upgrades consistent with the European-market EV4 GT Hatch that appear to be present include semi-bucket sport seats, a three-spoke GT steering wheel with a lime green 12 o’clock marker, as well as a specific user interface when the vehicle is in GT mode.

The launch of the EV4 GT Sedan coincides with the arrival of dual-motor Long Range 4WD versions of the EV3 and EV4 in Korea, which up power and torque to 195kW/385 from 150kW/283Nm, while dropping combined driving range by ~30km in the EV4.

Kia Australia has previously left the door open for a dual-motor EV3 Long Range AWD variant to join the local lineup, but indicated an expansion of the EV4 Sedan range is unlikely for now based on the current “sales plan” – which forecasts around 70 units per month for the new electric fastback.

“At this point in time, in the sedan guise, what we’re offering, that’s the range for now,” said Roland Rivero, general manager for product at Kia Australia. He added that an Air Long Range was more likely as a potential expansion point for the EV4 Sedan “if there’s demand for it”.

The 2026 Kia EV4 Sedan has just arrived in Australia priced from $49,990 plus on-road costs for the Air Standard Range, stretching to $64,690 for the GT-Line Long Range flagship. Should an EV4 GT be brought to Australia, it would almost certainly wear a price tag starting with a ‘7’.
