recall alert 2017 volvo s60l

Today’s recall involves the 2017 Volvo S60L.

Volvo Car USA is recalling 2,758 examples of the 2017 Volvo S60L due to a potential issue with the door latches. A component inside the latch may break, which could prevent the door from closing securely and puts the vehicles out of compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 206 covering door locks and retention.

To address the problem, dealers will replace all four door latches at no cost to owners. Notification letters are scheduled to be mailed on February 23, 2026. Owners can contact Volvo customer service at 1-800-458-1552 and reference recall number R89978. The affected VINs have been searchable on the NHTSA website since January 19, 2026, and the action expands on a previous recall identified as 19V849.
