In Season 16, Episode 13 of “The Simpsons,” Homer buys a recreational vehicle, parks it in his front yard, and moves in by himself, ignoring his family. When Marge goes to confront him, he dramatically says, “Oh, yeah, Marge? What about my womanly needs?” and drives away. Perhaps Homer would embrace Acura’s new portfolio for 2027 because it’s possible his needs will be met.
“We are making a big commitment to Acura by delivering products and services that meet the needs of our customers at all life stages, which will create a sustainable long-term direction for the brand,” says Eiji Fujimura, president & CEO of American Honda. “The Acura business foundation is sharply focused on the needs of the customer, delivering new products that offer value for money on a premium level, and increasing our speed to market to ensure that our products are highly competitive and meet the latest market conditions.”

If you’re familiar with Honda’s TrailSport models, you can imagine how Acura will take that idea further with an “adventure-ready” SUV. Slated to hit dealership lots in the first part of 2028, the yet-to-be-named off-road SUV is designed “for outdoor adventure”with modern and premium styling.” Of course, it will include a comfortable interior and cutting-edge technology.
The Japanese automaker will also look to address the increased demand for more family-friendly vehicles with a new eight-passenger SUV. The currently-in-development large SUV will be positioned above the seven-passenger MDX.
Finally, the fourth-generation RDX Hybrid is projected to hit dealerships in 2028. It will be the first model to receive the company’s techy two-motor hybrid system.

“The three new SUVs, along with the ADX, MDX and Integra, will meet customer needs across a range of life stages,” according to Acura. In addition, the premium brand will introduce a V-6 hybrid system for D-segment models, which would include the redesigned RDX. Is a D-segment coupe or sedan far behind?
“Acura is entering the most popular segments in the market while maintaining a leading position in gateway segments with Integra and ADX, to solidify a strong and sustainable future,” says Gary Robinson, Vice President of Auto Strategy at American Honda.
With three new models plus more, it’s possible everyone’s needs will be covered. Would this satisfy Homer? If Acura developed the Canyonero (Season 9, Episode 15), it may depend on the donut capacity of the cupholders.
