Many TV shows and movies feature vintage American trucks in their stock configuration and covered with years of patina. Those look great and definitely have a following, but they’re not the only type of classic pickup. Many old-school trucks have show-quality paint, flashy wheels, and more modern performance hardware and convenience features. A new 700R4 four-speed automatic with overdrive should make cruising more pleasant and fuel-efficient. When speed is more important than miles per gallon, a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.73 gears is ready to light up the Continental ExtremeContact radials.
