Ford Ranger and Mustang recalled

Ford Australia is recalling certain Mustang and Ranger vehicles produced between 2024 and 2025 as they could lose power unexpectedly.

The recall affects EcoBoost variants of the Mustang and plug-in hybrid versions of the Ranger, both of which use a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.

“The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve may fail. If this occurs, it could lead to reduced acceleration, engine vibration and/or a loss of motive power whilst driving,” the company says in its recall notice.

“Note: A warning light (check engine) may illuminate on the instrument cluster.

“A loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
