Over 7000 examples of the Hyundai i30 N hot hatch have been recalled as they could suddenly lose power.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel control valve in the high-Pressure fuel pump could allow excess fuel to enter the pump,” Hyundai Australia says in its recall notice.
“If this occurs, the engine could stall resulting in a sudden loss of motive power whilst driving.
“A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

- A total of 7293 vehicles are affected, produced between 2017 and 2022

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with an authorised Hyundai dealer to have the fuel pump impeller inspected and replaced, free of charge.
