MG’s cheapest cars get even cheaper with new loyalty discounts on MG 3, ZS

MG Motor Australia is offering additional discounts on its entry-level MG 3 Vibe light hatch and ZS Vibe small SUV, but it’s keeping them in the family.

The additional $1000 discount is available only to customers who own or have owned an MG, as well as their immediate family members including parents, spouses and children (including adopted and step children).

This brings the price of the MG 3 Vibe to $19,990 drive-away, and the ZS Vibe 1.5L to $21,990 drive-away, but only until March 31, 2026.

MG advises it may require proof of MG vehicle ownership and, where applicable, proof of immediate family relationship. The offer can be redeemed a maximum of two times per eligible customer, and excludes fleet, government and rental buyers plus demonstrator vehicles.

The MG 3 Vibe and ZS Vibe 1.5L were already being offered with special promotional pricing until March 31, 2026, as part of MG’s Mega Sellebration sale.

MG is offering various deals at the moment, including plate clearance and summer sales promotions.

It launched the ZS Vibe 1.5L this year as a new entry point for the reshuffled ZS lineup. Though it undercuts the previous-generation ZS by $1000 (and now with this new deal, by a further $1000), the Vibe 1.5L features a full suite of active safety and driver assist technology which its predecessor lacked.

The MG 3 Vibe arrived here midway through 2025 as a new entry grade for the Chinese brand’s light-car line. While it doesn’t have the same full suite of active safety tech as pricier MG 3s, it’s still decidedly better-equipped in this respect than its predecessor, which was being run out last year for $19,990 drive-away.

Like the ZS Vibe 1.5L, it features a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 81kW of power and 142Nm of torque, mated with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

MG said at the launch of the new-generation ZS late in 2024 that it expected both it and the MG 3 would remain the best-selling vehicles in their respective segments.

The MG 3 has held on, outselling the next best-selling vehicle in the light-car segment last year by almost two-to-one at 8350 units. However, its sales were down 33.5 per cent on 2024’s tally.

The ZS lost the title of Australia’s best-selling small SUV last year, when the Chery Tiggo 4 just pipped it with 20,149 units and the Hyundai Kona pulled well ahead with 22,769 units. Its sales were down 11.6 per cent year-on-year.
