Ram Trucks Australia is recalling its 1500, 2500 and 3500 pick-ups to address two separate issues: an airbag inflator problem and an instrument cluster issue.

The Ram 1500 DS is impacted by the airbag inflator issue.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the left and right curtain airbag inflators may unexpectedly rupture,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If an airbag inflator ruptures, compressed gas and metal fragments may be propelled through the airbag cushion towards vehicle occupants, causing serious injury or death.”

Separately, the Ram 1500 (DT), 2500 (DJ) and 3500 (D2) are impacted by a potential instrument cluster fault.

“Due to a software issue, the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) may fail to illuminate the visual warnings for the brake system lights, gear selection indicators and other critical safety information,” the recall notice says.

“A loss of safety system warnings while driving could increase the risk of an accident without prior warning, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

  • A total of 1258 vehicles are affected, produced between 2019 and 2025
