Recall Alert: 2022-2026 Lucid Air

recall alert 2022 2026 lucid air

We have another recall alert, concerning 2022-2026 Lucid Air models.

Lucid is recalling a chunk of early Air sedans because the backup camera may decide to take the day off right when you need it most.

The issue affects roughly 10,816 model-year 2022–2026 Airs equipped with the AD02 package and running software versions 2.8.0 through 2.8.16. Due to a software glitch, the rearview camera image may fail to display when the car is shifted into reverse, which is both inconvenient and a violation of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111. In other words, the car may not show you what’s behind you, and regulators tend to frown on that.

The fix is mercifully simple. Lucid has rolled out a free over-the-air software update to correct the problem, meaning no dealer visit is required. Owner notification letters are scheduled to go out on March 13, 2026. Owners with questions can contact Lucid directly at 1-888-995-8243.

Full disclosure — this article was partially written by AI and edited by a human staffer.
