The Mazda CX-60 and CX-80 are receiving retuned suspension for 2027, at least in European markets, as the Japanese automaker continues to try and improve their ride comfort.
Due in European showrooms from December 2026, the updated SUVs haven’t been confirmed yet for Australia. Mazda Australia declined to confirm if or when these updates will reach our market.
Per Mazda’s Dutch press release, the company says it has “further improved the ride comfort of both models by revising the rear suspension crossmember bushings, contributing to a smoother and more refined driving experience”.
This marks the third suspension update for the CX-60 in as many years, and the first for the CX-80.

Late in 2023, Mazda started fitting revised rear shock absorbers to CX-60s at the factory, the following year offering Australian buyers these as a free retrofit.
May 2025 subsequently brought a further revision for the CX-60, bringing softer rear springs, increased rear rebound damping, and firmer front compression damping.
The updated 2027 CX-60 and CX-80 also receive more sound-absorbing materials within the engine bay, as well as between it and the cabin.

They also gain Active Parking Control, a semi-autonomous parking system that can handle both parallel and perpendicular parking manoeuvres.
Deep Crystal Blue mica paint has been replaced by Aero Grey in the CX-60, with Polymetal Grey joining the CX-80’s palette. Currently, the only grey finish offered on Australian-market CX-60 and CX-80 models is Machine Grey Metallic.
Mazda’s president confirmed in August the company was working on updates for the CX-60 and CX-80 and their fellow Large Architecture-based SUVs – the CX-70 and CX-90 – amid sales that have fallen short of projections.

“We will be working on the exterior, interior, and powertrain, and will be upgrading them on a scale never seen before,” said Mazda President Masahiro Moro in translated remarks reported by Japanese outlet Chugoku Shimbun.
“We will cultivate these into products that people will say are Mazda’s flagship. It will take time, but we will definitely achieve this.”
However, Moro-san didn’t confirm the extent of these changes. While Mazda in Europe has now announced updates to the CX-60 and CX-80, which were developed with that market as a focus, no updates have been detailed yet for the US-focused CX-70 and CX-90.
Australia is the only market in the world that gets all four Large Architecture SUVs.
