According to AAA, the average cost of regular-grade unleaded fuel in the United States is $4.33 a gallon, which is higher than last year’s average of $3.06. Some ways to help offset this increase in fuel costs are to keep your tires properly inflated, avoid “jackrabbit” starts and, unfortunately, cut down on late-night ice cream or taco runs. Something else to consider would be changing vehicles to something that gets 50-plus MPG, like the 2027 Toyota Camry Hybrid.
Built at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing facility in Georgetown, Kentucky, this sedan features a fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to an electronically controlled Continuously Variable automatic transmission. Available in front-wheel- and all-wheel- drive configurations, you can expect a maximum 225 net horsepower on FWD and 232 net horsepower on AWD models.

If you’re inclined to opt for the all-wheel-drive configuration, it’s available across all five trims. The electronic on-demand all-wheel-drive system operates by way of an electric motor-generator situated on the rear axle that helps distribute torque based on driving conditions. In other words, if you end up having to go out in heavy rain to get that one item you forgot at the store, the system can detect the slippery conditions and distribute the proper amount of torque to provide better traction. Unfortunately, it can’t detect the missing item before you leave the parking lot — that’s what significant others and checklists are for.
All trims are available with a MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension system. However, if you want something a little sportier, look for the SE, Nightshade, and XSE grades for a sport-tuned suspension with special shocks and springs.

The 2027 Toyota Camry Hybrid is available in multiple shades of paint, including: Ocean Gem, Heavy Metal, Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Celestial Silver Metallic, Underground, Midnight Black Metallic, Supersonic Red, Reservoir Blue, and Dark Cosmos; Nightshade trim is only available in Ice Cap, Supersonic Red, and Midnight Black Metallic. If you’re partial to a two-tone look, the XSE trim has an available Midnight Black Metallic roof option that can be paired with select colors.
Inside, the experience changes depending on what grade you select. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents, five USB ports, and Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging are a few things that come standard across any trim. If you’re after a more sporty interior then the SE, Nightshade, and XSE are your best options due to their standard aluminum sport pedals, leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, and leather-wrapped shift knob. The LE and XLE lean more luxury, with the LE sporting woven fabric with an ocean-inspired embossed pattern, and the XLE combining leather seats with Dinamica microfiber trim.

Prospective buyers may be interested to know that each Camry will be offered with ToyotaCare for the first year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. This program covers regular maintenance over that stretch of time. Toyota also offers a 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehicle warranty for all components outside of normal wear and tear or maintenance items. The Hybrid components are covered for eight years or 100,000 miles from the date of first use, and the battery is covered by an ownership-transferable warranty for 10 years or 150,000 miles.

Starting at $29,700 plus dealer processing and handling fees, the 2027 Toyota Camry Hybrid (and all its variants) are expected to arrive at dealerships by the end of 2026. Who knows what gas prices will be then? At least you’ll have a hybrid to help avoid a multitude of fill-ups.
