Geely Auto is coming to Canada. The company recently confirmed it will start up Canadian operations and a dealer and service footprint before any vehicles go on sale in 2027. What it won’t tell you is which vehicles those will be.
For a company staking out a new market, Geely Auto Canada is keeping an impressive number of cards face down. No models. No pricing. No dealership locations. No word on whether its opening lineup leans electric, hybrid, or old-fashioned gasoline. A Canadian team is reportedly in place, and the company has stood up a website to publish vehicle information “as preparations continue,” which is corporate-speak for “later.”
Bryan Wu, managing director of Geely Auto Canada, called Canada “an important next step in Geely Auto’s international growth,” and framed the entry as “a long-term commitment.” He added, “We know that trust is earned over time, and we are committed to earning it here.” That’s a lot of words about trust from a brand that hasn’t yet named a single car.
The thin Canadian disclosure sits against a global operation that is anything but small. According to Geely Auto Group, the company reported worldwide sales of 3,024,567 vehicles in 2025, a 39 percent gain over the prior year. Its new-energy tally came in at 1,687,767 units, up 90 percent. The group’s products reach over 100 countries and regions under the Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr brands.
One caveat worth underlining: this is a Geely Auto announcement, not a pledge that every brand under the group umbrella is coming. Anyone expecting Zeekr showrooms in 2027 has nothing concrete to hang that hope on.
Geely Auto Canada says its network will lean on local partners “familiar with the communities they serve,” though it has named exactly zero of them. The factors that will actually decide whether this works — models, pricing, and service coverage — remain unanswered. A 2027 launch gives the company time. Whether it uses that time to build a network Canadians can rely on is the open question.
