If you long for the outdoors while wasting away in rush-hour traffic, school pick-up line, or waiting for gas at Costco, the 2027 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk might be for you. Jeep engineered this SUV to be off-road-capable, provide plenty of cargo space, seat five, and average an estimated 31 mpg.
“Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is the real deal, and earned its Trail Rated badge through a gauntlet of testing scenarios,” says Branden Coté, Jeep brand CEO. “This SUV blends authentic 4×4 off-road capability that the Trailhawk badge represents, and with hybrid efficiency that is so important to customers in this segment.”

Jeep tested the Cherokee Trailhawk across harsh environments in Moab and Sand Hollow, Utah, to ensure it could withstand even more than what the average commuter will come across in his or her lifetime. The 210-horsepower turbo 1.6-liter inline-four hybrid , class-exclusive two-speed power transfer unit (with 2.92 low range ratio and 37.5:1 crawl ratio), and Active Drive II 4×4 system with Lock Mode were pushed to their limits and passed with flying colors. Luckily, Jeep had the foresight to protect all those components with steel skid plates that will be standard across all trim levels.
Jeep designed the Cherokee Trailhawk’s exterior to have “best-in-class” specifications, which include:
- Standard approach angle of 28.8 degrees
- Departure angle of 31.8 degrees
- Ramp breakover angle of 21.9 degrees
- Water fording rating depth of up to 24 inches

The key components to achieving these numbers is the Trailhawk’s model-exclusive gloss black front and rear fascias. The rest of the exterior includes LED headlights and taillights, fog lights, foot-activated rear lift gate, front and rear tow hooks, anti-glare Trailhawk hood graphic, and 245/65R17 Nexen Rodian ATX all-terrain tires with a choice of two different wheel designs.
Inside, the Mantis Green power-adjustable heated seats are embroidered with red accent stitching and sit on either side of a center console that holds a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, climate controls, and a Black Spun Aluminum-finished shift dial. Just to the back of the shift dial, one will notice the Radical Red bezel, which holds the Selec-Terrain drive mode selector. Drivers will have the option of choosing among five driving modes: Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud, or Rock.

If you want to score one of these and take a backroad whenever you feel like it, you can expect to pay at least $44,625 (including $1,995 destination charge ) — Jeep is currently taking orders on its website. Production will begin later in 2026 at Stellantis’ Toluca Assembly Complex in Mexico.
